Snow & Inclement Weather – General Office Policy

*NOTE: Your therapist may speak with you about an alternative plan for snow and inclement weather*

One Step At A Time Therapy follows the school closures for State College Area School District (SCASD). Cancellations, delays, & early dismissals will impact your scheduled appointment depending on the clinician. Generally speaking, if SCASD cancels school due to inclement weather, the office will close and your sessions canceled or moved to telehealth depending on your therapist’s policy. If SCASD has an early dismissal, the office closes early and you’ll hear from your therapist to discuss cancellation or switching to telehealth. If SCASD has a 1, 2, or 3-hour delay, the office also has a 1, 2, or 3-hour delay.

• SCASD 1-hour delay: Sessions will start at 10:00 AM and prior sessions will be canceled
• SCASD 2-hour delay: Sessions will start at 11:00 AM and prior sessions will be canceled
• SCASD 3-hour delay: Sessions will start at 12:00 PM and prior sessions will be canceled

Unexpected Closures

If your therapist needs to cancel sessions due to unexpected reasons, they will alert you as soon as possible via your preferred method of contact. Please be checking your messages each day, prior to your session to ensure you’re not missing any important messages.
